The United States is aware of possible short-range missile launches by the DPRK and considers it commonplace, a senior US administration official told reporters.
“We are aware of the DPRK's military activities over the weekend, which were not sanctioned by a UN Security Council resolution limiting ballistic missiles,” an administration official said.
According to him, we are talking about “normal activity on the part of the North”, “at a low level.”
“This is a short-range system,” he said. At the same time, a representative of the administration, referring to the secrecy of the information, refused to say which launches and how many missiles were in question.
The Washington Post, citing informed sources, reported that the DPRK tested short-range missiles last week.
