The Russian Foreign Ministry blamed the US for the impasse in US-Russian relations

Russia has accused the United States of refusing to hold public talks in the video conference format — earlier, President Vladimir Putin made such a proposal to his American counterpart Joe Biden.

This was stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“The American side did not support the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold a conversation with US President John Biden on March 19 or 22,” the communique says.

It is worth noting that the White House immediately rejected Putin's offer since Biden had already held a telephone conversation with him in January.

The Russian Foreign Ministry blamed the United States for the resulting “impasse in Russian-American relations”, as well as the loss of the opportunity to get out of it.

Recall that last week, Biden called Putin a murderer and said that he oversaw a large-scale campaign to smear the Democratic candidate in last year's US presidential election.

In the State Duma of the Russian Federation, this was called almost an insult to all Russians, but Putin responded to the words of his opponent with a childish joke.
