The U.S. Defense Department will provide military bases under quarantine because of the new coronavirus.
The U.S. Department of Defense has approved a request from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for assistance in providing quarantine facilities for 1,000 people who may need quarantine upon arrival from China as the coronavirus spreads.
The Pentagon said the agency has requested several facilities that can accommodate at least 250 people in separate rooms until February 29.
Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman told Twitter that military bases and facilities in California, Colorado, and Texas had been selected for this purpose.
“According to this request, the Pentagon will only assist in accommodations,” he wrote.
Earlier, the U.S. imposed a temporary travel ban on foreigners who have visited China in the last month.
According to recent data, the number of those who fell ill in China has almost reached 12 thousand people, 259 people died.
