Germany extends its national epidemic regime until June 30

The German Bundestag has extended for three months — until June 30 — the national epidemic regime, introduced earlier in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

The corresponding law was adopted on Thursday, March 4. He was supported by 368 deputies, 293 were against.

The national epidemic regime is the basis for the introduction of such restrictive measures as the closure of non-food stores and the reduction of social contacts. At the same time, the new law provides for innovation, according to which restrictions in the future will be tied not to the incidence rate for the last 7 days per 100,000 population, but to other indicators.

The law also extends the provision according to which residents of Germany can receive payments for no more than 20 days if they have to take care of sick relatives or loved ones at home.

On the eve, representatives of the federal and state authorities of Germany continued the lockdown in force in the country until March 28. At the same time, the authorities agreed to remove some restrictions from March 8. In particular, book and flower shops, shops of garden goods, beauty salons, driving schools, and pilot schools will open, restrictions on personal contacts will be relaxed. In addition, every citizen will have the opportunity to take a rapid coronavirus test free of charge once a week.
