American scientists have identified a side effect in the form of skin inflammation in the Moderna coronavirus vaccine.
The study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
It found that delayed injection site reactions were observed in 244 of the 30,420 participants (0.8%) after the first dose of the vaccine and after the second dose in 68 participants (0.2%).
These reactions included redness, induration, and soreness. This usually cleared up over the next 4-5 days.
The article gave an example of 12 patients with skin inflammation. After the second dose of the vaccine, which was recommended by the specialists, most of the vaccinated did not have the side effect anymore.
