Ten missiles on Wednesday hit the Iraqi Ain al-Assad airbase, where US forces are stationed.
Reported by Reuters.
There are no reports of injuries among U.S. military personnel, but an American civilian contractor has died of a heart attack in a missile strike.
“Now we cannot attribute responsibility, and we do not have a complete picture of the extent of the damage,” said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Last Thursday, US forces carried out airstrikes on targets at a border checkpoint in Syria used by rebels supported by Iran, including Kataib Hezbollah and Kataib Said al-Shuhad.
A spokesman for the command of the Baghdad Operations Directorate said the attack on Wednesday began from a location about eight kilometers from the base, which is in the western province of Anbar.
On February 16, a rocket attack on US-led forces in northern Iraq killed a civilian contractor and injured the US military.
