In Austria, 41 people have died after being vaccinated with the Pfizer / BioNtech vaccine against COVID-19, according to a report from the country's Federal Office for Health Safety.
At the same time, doctors did not reveal a connection between the death of patients with the use of the drug.
As noted in the report, in the case of three patients, this version was ruled out immediately after the autopsy. Another 11 people were vaccinated during the incubation period of the coronavirus disease, during which they died. The other 19 patients had diseases that were believed to be fatal. The circumstances of the death of eight more are being established.
On December 21, the European regulator introduced the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine to the European market. The European Commission issued the final approval for the vaccine on the same day, a few days later, the drug began to be delivered to the EU countries.
Coronavirus vaccination began in Austria on December 27.
