WHO promises compensation for “side effects” from the COVID-19 vaccine

The World Health Organization (WHO) has approved a COVID-19 vaccination compensation program for people in 92 low- and middle-income countries in the COVAX program. You will not need to go to court to receive compensation.

This is stated in a message on the WHO website.

The program will be funded by a small COVAX levy on each vaccine dose. The intention is to compensate for the damage caused by rare but serious side effects.

“By providing a one-time compensation in the full and final settlement of any claims, the COVAX program aims to significantly reduce the need to go to court, which is a potentially time-consuming and costly process,” it said.

It will be possible to submit applications for compensation from March 31, 2021, when the special website of the program will start working, where, among other things, it will be possible to find answers to questions about compensation.

Those to whom the vaccine will be administered before March 31 will also be able to apply for compensation.

Recall that more and more cases of adverse reactions to the coronavirus vaccine are being recorded in the world. In particular, in Poland, more than 1.5 thousand cases of complications have already been recorded.

We also reported that people who have had the coronavirus are twice as likely to develop side effects after the Pfizer vaccine as those who have not.
