The US is ready to negotiate with Iran without preconditions
The United States does not put forward preconditions for the meeting of the “ six “ with Iran. This was stated by the representative of the State Department Ned Price.
“In the P5+1 format — the permanent five members of the UN Security Council plus Germany — we want to sit down with the Iranians at the negotiating table, with our allies and partners beside us at the meeting held by the EU. There are no prerequisites for this, “ Price said.
In 2015, Russia, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, China, and Germany signed an agreement with the Iranian authorities to freeze the nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. The document was called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). In May 2018, the former US President, Donald Trump, unilaterally announced the withdrawal of the US side from the deal.
