Biden intends to seek Assange's extradition to the US

The administration of US President Joseph Biden plans to seek the extradition from the UK of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Writes about this New York Times.

According to the report, “the Biden administration made it clear that at the moment it is continuing the attempts made by his predecessor to prosecute Julian Assange.”

It is noted that the US Department of Justice challenged the ruling according to which Assange could not be extradited to the American side.

Earlier, the US Department of Justice brought 18 criminal charges against Assange. In total, the Australian faces up to 175 years in prison.

Assange is now in a British prison. Before that, for 7 years he was hiding at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
