In Singapore, a physician mistakenly injected a five-fold dose of coronavirus vaccine

In Singapore, a healthcare professional was mistakenly injected with a five-fold dose of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine — BioNTech.

Channel News Asia reports.

An employee of one of the medical institutions in Singapore was immediately hospitalized. However, he had no complications.

“The error was discovered immediately after the injection, after which the employee of the center was immediately hospitalized. No side effects were found. An internal investigation showed that the incident was the result of a human error that arose due to uncoordinated actions of the staff who were involved in the vaccination,” in a statement from the National Ophthalmology Center.

Note that in Singapore, the authorities have promised to pay 10 thousand Singapore dollars ($7.5 thousand) in case of serious side effects from the vaccine. And in case of death or serious complications that will affect life, the government will pay 225 thousand Singapore dollars ($169 thousand).

In addition, as we already wrote, the WHO Regional Director for Europe, Hans Kluge, expressed his uncertainty that the vaccine would help against mutated strains of coronavirus.
