Trump refused to testify in the impeachment case

Former United States President Donald Trump refused to testify in an impeachment case during a Senate hearing.

According to Reuters, the Democrats made a request to hear the 45th president in the hall. At the same time, the lawyers rejected it.

“The President will not testify in an unconstitutional proceeding,” Trump said.

As previously reported, ex-President of the United States Donald Trump does not plan to personally attend the Senate hearings on his impeachment case. He can provide evidence in his defense in writing.

At the same time, Donald Trump's lawyers have said that the US Senate has no authority to conduct an impeachment trial after he left office.

Earlier, Democrats in the US Senate promised a quick impeachment process for Trump.
