Biden is nominated for the post of CIA Director
The President of the United States of America Joe Biden on Wednesday sent for consideration by the U.S. Senate candidacy of former U.S. Ambassador to Russia William burns to head the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
This was reported by the press service of the White House.

Burns's diplomatic career began in 1982. He has held a number of national security positions under five U.S. administrations. From 2005 to 2008, Burns was the U.S. Ambassador to Russia, then First Deputy Secretary of State, and since 2015, he has headed the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Recall that the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States, Gina Haskell, resigned on the eve of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
