U.S. Confirmed New Treasury Secretary вЂ” Janet Yellen
The U.S. Senate confirmed the nomination of President Joe Biden to head the Treasury Department, 74-year-old Janet Yellen.

Yellen will become the first woman to head the Treasury Department. For a long time, she taught at Harvard, the London School of Economics, and the University of California at Berkeley.
From 1994 to 1997, she was a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and from 1997 to 1999, she served as Chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers under Bill Clinton.
From 2004 to 2010, she was head of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and from 2010 to 2014, she was deputy head of the Fed.
From 2014 to 2018, she was head of the Fed.
