Iranian leader threatened to punish Trump on the golf course

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei published on his Twitter a call for revenge against former U.S. President Donald Trump for the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani.

This is reported by the BBC.

The post depicts a blond-haired man who resembles Trump — playing golf in the shadow of a military plane or large drone.

“Revenge is inevitable,” Khamenei wrote.

According to Reuters, the text in the image is a reference to Khamenei's Twitter post from December 2020. It said revenge on the perpetrators and organizers of General Qasem Soleimani's assassination was inevitable.

“The organizers and perpetrators of General Soleimani's assassination must be punished. This revenge will be imminent,” the ayatollah said.

Some users called on Twitter to block the Iranian leader's account. However, the administration of the social network ignored these appeals.

Soleimani's assassination

On January 3, 2020, a U.S. airstrike near Baghdad killed 63-year-old al-Quds Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had come to Iraq to meet with local militia commanders.

This was followed by a string of events as Iran fired ballistic missiles at two military bases, Ain al-Asad and Erbil in Iraq, where U.S. and international coalition forces are stationed, on Jan. 8.

As previously reported, the Iraqi judiciary announced the issuance of an arrest warrant for Donald Trump in connection with the murder of General Soleimani.
