Apple is developing an iPhone with a foldable screen

In 2021, Apple will introduce an updated line of its products, among the innovations a lot of surprises for the company's customers.

It is reported by Bloomberg.

iPhone with a foldable screen

A knowledgeable source said that the company has developed prototypes of foldable screens for internal testing, but hasn't gone any further yet. At this stage, it does not have full-fledged prototypes of foldable smartphones.

An important aspect would be that a foldable iPhone would allow Apple to get a device with a larger screen that would fit more easily in a pocket.

According to the agency, the company has discussed foldable screens of various sizes, including a similar size to the 6.7-inch display of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Note that now such a smartphone is only at an early stage and it is not known whether it will be released not only this year but ever.

Redesign of the iMac all-in-one computers

Apple plans to redesign its iMac all-in-one desktops for the first time since 2012 this year.

In the new 21.5-inch and 27-inch models, the corporation will give up Intel processors, they will be installed new powerful processors of their own production.

Among other changes — reducing the frame around the screen, getting rid of much of the metal “chin” similar to the Apple Pro Display. The new iMacs will have a flat back cover, unlike the curved back of the current iMacs.

New versions of the MacBook Pro

In mid-2021, the company plans to begin the production of new versions of its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops with faster in-house processors, updated displays, and MagSafe magnet chargers.

The appearance of the new notebooks will not undergo significant changes and will be similar to the current versions of the MacBook Pro.

The company believes that the rejection of charging through the USB-C port and return to the magnetic MagSafe power adapter will allow laptops to charge faster. Especially if you accidentally yank the power cable, it will simply detach from the laptop, not pull it with you.

Paid Podcast Subscription

Subscriptions to Apple's podcasts will become payable. Unique content will be created by the authors, who have concluded a partnership with Apple. At this stage, the company is already in talks with podcast studios.

Besides, there is a possibility to pay for separate podcasts. This will give the authors an opportunity to earn even more money. Podcast owners would then have the option to include paid listening to their content that is not tied to an Apple subscription. This may force some studios to switch from other services to Apple.

What else might change

At this stage, the company is not planning major changes for new smartphones, given that it has already introduced 5G technology and a new design in 2020. The iPhones will come out with the “S” designation, which is usually given to slightly changed smartphones.

The company is now testing a fingerprint reader through the screen to unlock the smartphone. The feature could prove handy in the context of the coronavirus pandemic when users wear masks that prevent them from applying facial recognition. The feature is planned to be introduced as early as 2021.

Apple plans to release an accessory this year that will allow it to find items like a backpack or keys. It plans to release several accessories for it, including a leather keychain.

An iPad Pro is also in development. The new tablet will be visually similar to the current model but will have a MiniLED display and a much faster processor.

Earlier we reported that the Web is actively spreading information that on the wave of the scandal around Telegram and supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump, Apple may remove the application from the AppStore and users' devices.
