Trump is going to be impeached after he leaves office

U.S. President Donald Trump is going to be impeached after he left office. This is reported by Politico.

According to the U.S. publication, consideration of the issue of Trump's impeachment in the Senate may take place almost immediately after the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. In this case, the impeachment issue will be considered when Trump is already a former president.

It is noted that this could be an obstacle to Biden's approval of candidates for key positions in the administration and work on measures to combat the coronavirus.

Earlier, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said that a decision to impeach Trump before his term expires on January 20 will not be made. He said there was no chance of a “fair and serious” process during the remaining seven days of the president's term.

On January 14, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach sitting U.S. President Donald Trump over the recent unrest in Washington. The debate lasted more than seven hours. 232 lawmakers voted for Trump's impeachment for sedition, while 197 voted against it. The vote was the second attempt to impeach Trump.
