The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi called President Donald Trump a “threat to the nation” and called for his resignation.
She made this statement during a session of the House on the issue of impeachment of the head of state, broadcast by CNBC.
“He (Trump) needs to go. He is a clear and present danger to the nation that we all love,” the Speaker stressed.
On January 6, supporters of incumbent U.S. President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Congress building, interrupting a session in which the parliament was to approve the results of the past election.
Five people were killed as a result of the incident. After the riots in Washington, Jerry Nadler, head of the House Judiciary Committee, proposed to impeach Trump in a simplified procedure.
