In Portugal, a medic died a day after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech.
On Monday, January 4, Correio da Manha reports.
Sonia Acevedo, 41, worked as an Operations Assistant at the Oncology Institute in Porto and on December 30 was one of 538 staff members who received the vaccine. She died on January 1, two children were left, orphans.
According to the grief-stricken father of the deceased, her daughter had no health problems, and after the vaccination, she did not complain of any side effects.
“She was given a vaccine against COVID-19, but she had no symptoms. I don't know what happened. I just need answers. I want to know what led to the death of my daughter,” the local publication Cofina Media TV quotes the father.
An autopsy will be performed to find out the reasons for Sonia Acevedo's death.
As a reminder, a dozen EU member states have already started vaccination of the population with Pfizer and BioNTech.
And in Spain, neighboring Portugal will create a register of “refuseniks” from vaccination.
