In Turkey, they announced the arrest of more than 260 people who allegedly planned terrorist attacks on New Year's Eve.

According to the Anadolu agency, this was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The special operation of law enforcement agencies continued from December 20 in 33 provinces of the country. During it, 267 people were detained, suspected of “supporting terrorist organizations that abuse religion.”

According to the communique, 106 Turkish citizens and 161 foreign citizens are among the detainees.

69 of the foreigners were handed over to the migration authorities for “the necessary administrative procedures in relation to foreign terrorists who were found to have links with conflict zones.”

The citizenship of detained foreigners is not mentioned. The specific organizations with which they are suspected are not indicated either.

It is also reported that as part of the special operation, three rifles, three pistols, 776 cartridges of cartridges, about two kilograms of ammonium nitrate (ammonium nitrate), and a significant amount of digital materials and documents were seized.

Recall that on New Year's Eve 2017, an unknown person dressed as Santa Claus opened fire on visitors to the popular nightclub in Istanbul. Then, as a result of the attack, 39 people were killed and 69 were injured.
