Turkey imposes “continuous” curfew

The curfew imposed by the authorities will not apply to foreign tourists. It will last until the morning of January 4th.

In Turkey, the curfew went into effect from Thursday 31 December until the morning of Monday 4 January. This decision was made following a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, which was earlier announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the Turkish leader, the country “will have a continuous curfew in the fight against the spread of coronavirus.”

Restrictions will not apply to foreign tourists. But according to a circular issued by the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs on December 30, tourists are prohibited from entering the central tourist streets and squares of all Turkish cities and provinces from 21:00 on December 31 to 10:00 on January 1.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 2.1 million people have been infected with coronavirus in Turkey, 20,642 people have died, and 2.078 million have recovered.

Prior to this, it was reported that Turkey has tightened entry rules due to COVID-19.

We add that Turkey plans to purchase the Chinese COVID vaccine. The Chinese company Sinovac Biotech Ltd began developing a coronavirus vaccine back in January.
