Apple will unveil a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display in the first quarter of 2021, according to new data from DigiTimes.
Earlier, Min-Chi Kuo, a reputable analyst, as well as the Korean edition of ET News, claimed that the iPad Pro with a new display will be shown in the first half of next year, now it has become a little more accurate.
It seems to me that only the 12.9-inch model may remain in the iPad Pro lineup: the fourth-generation iPad Air is not much different from the iPad Pro 11, and there is no point in duplicating devices.
What is the advantage of mini-LED displays?
All OLED panels are bright, high contrast, and rich in color. The panels themselves are energy efficient. The mini-LED displays are thinner, allowing you to install a larger battery or make your device a little thinner. Also, mini-LED displays are not subject to fading, which is the fault of OLED displays with a constant display of a static picture.
iPad Pro will be the first device with a mini-LED display. Apple is preparing at least six devices with such panels, including the MacBook, iMac, basic iPad, and in the future the iPhone.
