In the US study cases of Allergy to the vaccine anti coronavirus Pfizer

Experts in New York are checking another case of an acute allergic reaction in the United States to a coronavirus vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer and BioNTech. This was announced on Wednesday by Newsweek magazine.

According to him, more than 30 thousand people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in the metropolis. A healthcare professional has experienced an acute allergic reaction following this drug. This is the first such case in New York and the seventh in the United States. The six cases were posted on their website on December 19 by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The use of vaccines leads to side effects and the occurrence of allergic reactions, such cases are known and occur,” — the magazine explains the city department of health and mental hygiene. As the department reminds, the developers of this drug did not hide the fact that such cases, although rare, do occur. Relevant caveats appear in vaccine clinical trial and certification reports

The week before last, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it was studying about five cases of allergic reaction recorded in the country to a vaccine previously approved by the regulator. A chemical called polyethylene glycol, which is part of not only Pfizer's vaccine but also Moderna's vaccines, may cause an allergic reaction, experts say.

On December 11, the Food and Drug Administration of the US Department of Health and Human Services approved a vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, which has already begun in the country. US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar expressed hope that by the end of December, about 20 million Americans will receive this vaccine, and by the end of January the number of vaccinations carried out will reach 50 million.

On December 18, the FDA approved an application by the American company Moderna to register its vaccine against the new coronavirus under an accelerated emergency procedure.
