Elon Musk has in the past offered Apple to buy Tesla

Tesla founder Elon Musk has in the past offered Apple CEO Tim Cook to acquire his company. He wrote about it on his Twitter page.

The entrepreneur said that then Cook refused to discuss the proposal.

“On the darkest days of the Model 3 program, I reached out to Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Tesla [company] acquiring Apple (at a tenth of its value today). He refused to meet, ” Musk wrote.

On December 22, it became known that Musk's fortune per day decreased by $8.8 billion (to $144.7 billion). This happened on the first day that Tesla traded as a company from the S&P 500. As a result of trading, the auto giant's shares lost almost 6.5 percent of value.

Musk's capital depends on Tesla's well-being. He does not receive a regular salary, his work is paid for by stock options, which are divided into a series of 12 tranches for the next ten years. To get each of them, Musk must achieve two goals, one related to Tesla's market value and the other related to the company's revenues and profits.
