TOP 10 Facts About Area 51

Zone 51 is probably one of the most mysterious man-made places in the world. Depending on where you get on the Internet, you stumble on “there are experiments on people” or “we live in a simulation that leaves Zone 51”. There is no shortage of conflicting information about this place (including that which fans of conspiracy theory consider information to be), although, since the place is very famous and popular, most of this "information" is most likely inaccurate.

But, if you dig a little deeper, you will find that there are many relatively unknown facts about Zone 51 that are hidden on the last pages of the search results. If we digress for a moment from all these aliens and weather modifications, we will realize that these facts are as interesting as the most far-fetched conspiracy theories that exist around this place.

10. It is growing

Since the general public found out about Area 51, a lot of time has passed, although the CIA did not recognize its existence until 2013. What was originally an inconspicuous military base created during the Cold War turned into the greatest military secret in America, largely due to the widely publicized statements of its employees.

Since then, public interest in the base has only grown, as has the base itself. Most of us believe that Zone 51 is one protected place that has remained unchanged since its inception. But, in fact, Site 51 is still expanding, along with the amount of research being done there. The expansion of Area 51 caused a lot of controversies, since a significant part of the land, which now makes up its area, was seized by force without an adequate explanation. We do not hint that in the years that have passed since the base was built, they found more aliens for experiments. We just say that it is possible.

9. No one knows why she was named Zone 51

Most of us do not know that this base was not always called Zone 51, even if the government began to call it that some time ago. According to documents from the Cold War era, its original name is Homey Airport or Groom Lake. Despite this, now the base is called exclusively Zone 51 even in official documents. Of course, the question begs: where does this name come from? Zone 51 implies the existence of zones one through fifty, and if they exist, no one has been able to find them. What is the answer? We have no idea. We know that in government schemes of the 60s this place was called that way and that the CIA officially confirmed this in 2013.

Some people say the reason was the grid naming system used by the Atomic Energy Commission. Others claim that areas 1 - 50 were first created, but eventually destroyed due to the aliens getting out of control. To our knowledge, any of these explanations may be true.

8. Representatives of the Navy confirmed that UFO videos are real

Although there are definitely many conspiracy theories around Site 51, almost all of them can be discredited by reason and logic. We are sure that some of them have some truth - since the military really needs bases for testing secret technologies for national security purposes, but some of these theories are too far-fetched to be true.

But only until you take into account one of the videos that the leadership of the US Navy has. On it, you can see UFOs captured in this region. In a video, a Navy aircraft interacts with several strange flying objects, and until a certain point, this video was considered fake. Although the leadership of the U.S. Navy did not confirm the presence of aliens, they admitted that strange flying anomalies were noticed in and around Area 51.

7. One of these UFOs corresponds to the description of Lazar

While many ordinary people have already forgotten exactly how Zone 51 became popular, the conspiracy theorists community remember that this happened thanks to Bob Lazar. He served in Site 51 and became the first person to claim to have seen the government experiment with aliens there.

Many of you may have been wondering about the workdays of people working in Site 51. There were no dwellings for employees. Who would not want to work for the largest army in the world with free housing?

Although we assume that some employees working in Site 51 have their own housing, most do not. They get to the office, perhaps in one of the most unusual and secret ways — by air. Inside the facility, there is a whole hangar designed for Zone 51 employees, and there is a closed terminal for them at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Interestingly, the planes use a secret call sign called Janet. But this name does not mean the airline, it is simply the name given to these aircraft when they are in civilian airspace.

If you do not believe in conspiracies, then decide that none of his predictions can be true, and he made them solely for the sake of glory. We also thought so, at least until the description of one of the objects about which he spoke did not coincide with one of the three UFOs, the presence of which was confirmed in the US Navy. He claimed that he was working on a spacecraft that flew the bottom forward and described its shape in detail. If you look at the aforementioned video, you will see that one of these objects ideally matches the description that Lazar spoke about.

6. The initial purpose of Area 51

Amid all this talk about aliens and conspiracy theories, it’s hard to find the real purpose of Zone 51. Many fans of conspiracy theorists believe that the zone was built solely to house captured aliens. Although this may also be true, as many people unrelated to each other claimed to have seen strange things in Area 51.

You see, when the Cold War broke out, the entire East bloc was suddenly closed by what we know as the Iron Curtain. Because of this, the United States had to come up with an effective way of collecting intelligence. Zone 51 was originally intended to conduct research on U-2 secret U.S. high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. The secrecy of the base can also be explained by the simple fact that the US military did not want the Soviet Union to know about it, because otherwise the whole point would be lost.

5. There is no real fence around Area 51

Given that this facility is so heavily guarded by the U.S. military, one would think that Zone 51 has some kind of physical border to keep the curious outside. After all, if you can just cross its guarded perimeter, then this is not such a secret object, right?

In fact, this is exactly so. There is no fence around Area 51. While some of its internal parts are guarded around the perimeter, the base itself has no physical border. This does not mean that you can enter it undetected, since in many places magnetic sensors are installed, as well as watchtowers, from which they will certainly shoot you if you try to do this.

4. The secret of daily commuting

3. You can see it in the Google Maps application

Even if the general public does not have the slightest idea of what is inside Area 51, one company knows its internal location, at least from the height of the satellite. Google Maps is perhaps one of the few private companies that are allowed to display an object, and you can even see it in high resolution right now. On the maps, you can also see in high resolution how the object has grown over the years, which is very surprising.

Google even has a special pointer for Zone 51 if you enter its coordinates. Just go to 37.24804, -115.800155, and you will find that the small Google Street sign has turned into a tiny spaceship.

2. The most carefully guarded secret of the US military

If you do not go into conspiracy theories, you might think that Zone 51 is just another secret U.S. military facility. After all, conspiracy theories exist around all the important secret military bases in the world. All conspiracy theories around Zone 51 seem to stem from Bob Lazar’s initial statement, and it can safely be assumed that if not for it, then Zone 51 would be considered solely as another military facility.

But not only conspiracy theory fans find this object interesting. When several astronauts, while on a Skylab space object, accidentally photographed the object, the CIA sent them a special memorandum stating that this is the only coordinate on the planet for which there are clear instructions not to do this. In other words, the government also recognizes Site 51 as the single most carefully guarded secret of the US military. What does it mean? You can only guess.

1. The real problems of Area 51

As with most companies, the real problems in Area 51 are more related to corporate misconduct and the employer's neglect to create appropriate working conditions than to aliens. There have been quite a few lawsuits alleging that Site 51 employees were exposed to hazardous chemicals, and perhaps at least two people were killed. The government’s refusal to disclose the real state of affairs complicates the situation even more since everything inside the facility is strictly protected by state secrets.
