Forbes names the richest families in the USA

Fifty of the richest families in the United States have a combined fortune of $1.2 trillion, the magazine calculated.

The Walton family — the heirs of the American retail giant Walmart — is recognized as the richest family in the United States. This is reported by Forbes on Thursday, December 17.

In total, the Waltons own about half of Walmart's shares, and their fortune is estimated at $247 billion. Three children of the founder of the corporation Sam Walton — Alice, Jim, and Rob — are among the twenty richest businessmen in the world according to Forbes.

Behind them, in second place in the ranking, is the Koch family with a fortune of $100 billion. Its members own 84% of the shares of Koch Industries, which is engaged in manufacturing, trade, investment, refining, chemicals, man-made fibers, and plastics.

The three are closed by the Mars family, which owns the eponymous food manufacturer. Among other things, the company produces chocolates and pills Mars, Milky Way, Snickers, and M & M's. Their combined fortune is estimated at $94 billion.

In total, the top 50 US households own $1.2 trillion.

Recall that the previously richest European became even richer by $8 billion in a week. The fortune of businessman Bernard Arnault exceeded $122 billion. In the ranking of world billionaires, he is second only to Jeff Bezos.

It was also reported that China's billionaires are getting rich at a fantastic rate. In total, compared to 2019, the number of billionaires in China increased by 257, to 878 people — excluding Hong Kong and Macau.
