85 million employees may lose their jobs by 2025: they will be replaced by machines

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, about 100 countries are facing unemployment. In order to adapt to the current situation, companies have chosen various measures for themselves, one of which is to accelerate the automation and digitalization of various processes.

This is stated in the “Report on the future of jobs” of the World Economic Forum, writes Vice.

By the way, what companies are planning to do all over the world:

1% — to increase their staff;
14% — constantly cut their staff;
28% — temporary layoffs;
30% — temporarily transfer employees to other positions;
83% — Speed up task automation.

More than 80% of business leaders surveyed said they are accelerating the automation of their workflows. 50% also say they intend to accelerate workspace automation in their companies.

By 2025, a change in the division of labor between people, machines, and algorithms will disrupt 15% of the world's workforce — that's 85 million employees.
