A controlled explosion demolished the tallest chimney of a coal-fired power plant that operated from 1952 to 2015.
In the US state of Alabama, a 305-meter pipe was demolished by an explosion at an idle coal-fired power station, Widows Creek Fossil Plant. The press service of the Tennessee Valley Authority reported this on Facebook.
The footage shows that after a controlled explosion, the pipe fell flat on its side. The wreckage remained near the crash site.
It is noted that this was the tallest pipe of the power plant that operated from 1952 to 2015.
