Newly elected US President Joe Biden invited the leader of the opposition of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to a personal meeting.
The politician told about this in the program “Prosvet”.
“We are planning a meeting with Joe Biden. And we already have an invitation to such a meeting,” she said.
Earlier, the media wrote that the democrat invited Tikhanovskaya to his inauguration on January 20.
Note that during the election race, the American has repeatedly criticized the Lukashenko regime for repressions against civilians. He also expressed his support for the protesters and their leaders.
In addition, Biden reproached the Donald Trump administration for an insufficiently tough reaction to the events in Belarus.
We will remind, earlier Tikhanovskaya promised to reconsider the agreements between Lukashenko and the Kremlin. According to her, the independence and sovereignty of the state cannot be bargained for.
