Argentina says goodbye to Maradona: huge queues and riots

Argentines say goodbye to the legendary footballer who died at 61 years old, Diego Maradona. People have been queuing up since the night. Riots break out in front of the presidential palace now and then.

In the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, on Thursday morning, November 26, a farewell ceremony began with the ex-player and coach of the national football team Diego Maradona. The coffin was displayed in the presidential palace. The Argentines took the queue in the evening and stood all night.

Already at six in the morning, the queue stretched along the entire length of the square in front of the government building. Several dozen police officers are keeping order.

The body of the legendary athlete is closed from view, and barriers are placed in front of the coffin, covered with a shirt of the Argentine national team.
