Chinese probe to deliver lunar soil samples for the first time in 44 years
On November 23, a heavy Chinese carrier rocket Changzheng-5 with a recoverable automatic vehicle Change-5 was launched from the Hainan Island. This device for the first time in the history of Chinese astronautics will deliver samples of lunar soil to Earth.
The project consists of 12 stages and will take 23 [Earth] days. The device will stay on the moon for two days.
If the mission is successful, then China will become the first country in the last 44 years to implement a project to deliver geological samples from the lunar surface.
