Biden intends to raise the minimum wage

When the country begins to recover from the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, he said hourly wages will be raised.

“We will do it with higher wages, including a $15 minimum wage, better benefits, and stronger collective bargaining agreements that will allow you to support your family,” Biden wrote.

He noted that all this will help bring back the American middle class and make it better than ever.

Now the US Department of Labor has set a minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.

The increase in the minimum wage was one of the points of Biden's election campaign. During a debate with incumbent President Donald Trump on October 22, the Democrat stated that raising the minimum hourly wage rate to $15 is one way to support small businesses that are struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump responded by saying that raising the minimum wage would force many businesses to close or lay off a significant portion of their employees. At the same time, he promised to consider the possibility of raising the minimum wage if elected for a second term.
