WHO reports a record number of coronavirus infections per day in the World

The number of confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus in the world exceeded 52.48 million, having increased by more than 628 thousand in 24 hours, which represents a new maximum increase in the incidence per day since the beginning of the pandemic. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) published on Friday, the number of deaths in the world increased by more than 9.6 thousand in 24 hours, exceeding 1.29 million.

As of 19:14 (GMT + 4) on November 13, the WHO received information about 52,487,476 infected and 1,290,653 deaths. The number of people infected per day increased by 628,136, and the deaths — by 9,623.

Until now, the daily figure of 613 977 infected, recorded on November 7, was considered a record. WHO statistics take into account only officially confirmed information on cases of infection and death provided by states.

More than 46% of cases of infection reported to WHO over the past day are in the European Region (291,830), followed by North and South America (234,437), and South-East Asia (53,485) in third.

Most of the infected were registered in the USA — 10 266 631. This is followed by India (8 728 795), Brazil (5 748 375), Russia (1 880 551), France (1 862 666), Spain (1 437 220), Great Britain (1,290,199), Argentina (1,273,356), Colombia (1,165,326), Italy (1,066,401), Mexico (986,177) and Peru (928,006).
