In the US, the second state has crossed the mark of one million cases of COVID-19

Previously, this mark was crossed by Texas. Now the United States remains the world leader in the world in the number of cases of coronavirus.

In the United States, California is the second state to have identified more than a million cases of COVID-19. It was reported by CBS News on Friday, November 13.

California, home to 39.5 million people, had 1 million cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday. The number of hospitalizations in the state has skyrocketed since November 1. In the state as a whole, the rate of positive test results for coronavirus is 3.4%. At the same time, more than 18 thousand people have died in California — the most populous state in the country.

In turn, infectious disease expert Dr. John Schwarzberg said Thursday that the state is heading for a “very dark winter.” He criticized people for not wearing masks and not following social distancing rules.

Recall that earlier in Texas, the number of COVID-19 cases exceeded a million. Texas became the first US state to cross the mark.
