The US has changed its mind to ban TikTok

The US Department of Commerce said it would not yet implement the ban on the TikTok app in the country, which was supposed to take effect on November 12. The Wall Street Journal reported.

The department notes that the law prohibiting US app stores from offering downloads of TikTok will not come into force “pending further legal changes.”

Earlier, a US court temporarily blocked the entry into force of the decision of the US administration to remove the application of the social network TikTok from the Google and Apple app stores. Judge Carl Nichols granted a request from TikTok owners for an interim injunction but rejected a request for a similar ban on restricting social media in the country from November 12.

On September 18, it became known that users living in the United States will not be able to install TikTok or WeChat updates. The authorities will not force users to remove apps from their phones, but they will oblige Apple and Google to remove Chinese apps from their platforms in the country. At the same time, Apple and Google will be able to save applications on platforms operating in other countries.
