Russia has sent troops to the “capital” of Nagorno-Karabakh

The military, which Russia sent to Nagorno-Karabakh, entered the main city of the region — Stepanakert, in which, as it is supposed, the Russian “peacekeepers” will organize their headquarters.

This is reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov.

According to him, at the moment, the Russian Federation has transferred to Karabakh 817 of its military personnel, 119 units of weapons and military equipment, as well as 8 Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters. Earlier it was reported that Russia is going to deploy almost 2 thousand “peacekeepers” in the region.

The spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense claims that both Armenia and Azerbaijan are observing the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.

As we have already written, the six-week war between the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces ended on November 9 on favorable terms for Baku. Yerevan not only renounced the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh, which were under the control of Azerbaijan but also agreed to return three regions that the Azerbaijanis lost after the previous war in the 90s of the last century.

At the same time, Russia volunteered to control the truce between the parties — Lieutenant-General of the Russian Armed Forces Rustam Muradov, who was noticed earlier during the war in Donbas, will command its contingent.
