More than 45 million people on the planet are infected with COVID-19




The United States remains the leader in the number of infected and mortality among patients with coronavirus.





More than 45 million cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus have been confirmed worldwide.

So, as of Thursday evening, October 29, 45 220 250 inhabitants of the planet were infected with COVID-19. At the same time, over the past day, the disease was diagnosed in 453,273 people.

According to the portal, 32.9 million patients have already recovered and 1.2 million have died from complications of the coronavirus disease. The death rate per million population has reached 151.9.

Eight countries of the world have recorded more than a million cases of COVID-19 — USA (9.1 million), India (8.1), Brazil (5.5), Russia (1.6), France (1.3), Spain (1, 2), Argentina (1.1) and Colombia (1.04).

The United States remains the leader in the number of infected and mortality among patients with coronavirus. More than 233 thousand people have died in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 11.1 million active cases of COVID-19 in the world.

As reported, Swiss and Spanish scientists have identified a new type of coronavirus, which they named 20A.EU1. It is rapidly spreading across Europe, which could trigger a new wave of the pandemic.
