The court forbade Trump to spend Pentagon money on the wall

An attempt to redistribute funds intended for military construction by declaring a state of emergency was illegal, a Texas judge said.

In the United States, a federal judge in El Paso, Texas, blocked the Donald Trump administration’s decision to send $3.6 billion from the Pentagon’s budget to erect a wall on the Mexican border. This was reported by The Washington Post on Wednesday, December 11th.

It is noted that the White House planned to use these funds for the construction of about 280 kilometers of the wall at the border. The blocked amount is about a third of the total 10 billion budget allocated for the construction of the fence.

The judge’s order states that the attempt to redistribute funds intended for military construction by declaring a state of emergency was illegal.

El Paso County officials also claimed that the wall along the border would irreparably damage his reputation as a welcoming cross-border site.

Recall that in June a federal court in California already issued a verdict temporarily banning Trump from using the defense department’s funds to build a wall without Congress approval. The court also ruled that the government cannot use the money while Trump’s attempt to use the Pentagon’s budget is contested in various courts.

However, in July, the US Supreme Court overturned a California court restrictive order and allowed the US president to use the Pentagon to build the wall. Then it was about 2.5 billion dollars.

As you know, the construction of the border wall was one of Trump's main election promises.
