Ankara comments on the cover of Charlie Hebdo with Erdogan

The Turkish authorities condemn the publication of cartoons by the French magazine Charlie Hebdo on the country's President Tayyip Erdogan.

“We believe that this is a continuation of the” anti-Muslim program “of French President Emmanuel Macron. This is a disgusting attempt to spread cultural racism and hatred,” the Turkish presidential administration explained.

Earlier, Charlie Hebdo magazine, amid the crisis in relations between Paris and Ankara, placed Erdogan's caricature on the cover. In the picture, a half-naked Turkish president holds a can of drink with one hand and lifts the hem of a servant woman's dress with the other. The caption to the cartoon reads: "Erdogan is very playful in his private life.”
