Hundreds of companies have joined forces against Apple

In September 2020, several companies, including Epic Games and Spotify, formed the App Fairness Coalition. Its members advocate “freedom of choice and fair competition in the developer ecosystem.” Apple, in their opinion, is behaving anti-competitively, demanding a 30% commission on the App Store, and introducing strict rules. Today it turned out that more than 400 companies have already applied to join the coalition against Apple.

If initially there were 13 members in the coalition, now there are already 40 there. A spokeswoman for the association said that no one expected such high interest.

The media noted that many developers now depend on Apple to monetize their apps. If the company removes their programs from the App Store, then the specialists will not be able to cope with it.
