Huawei may sell Honor brand to bypass US sanctions
Since May 2019, Huawei has been under pressure from the United States. The sanctions are especially pressing, because of which the company cannot fully cooperate with various manufacturers of processors and other components. And now, information appeared on the network, according to which Huawei can sell its brand of affordable Honor smartphones to bypass the very US sanctions.
Popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his highly accurate predictions of the future development of the smartphone market, published a fresh study, writes Gizmochina. It, in turn, says that the Chinese tech giant may make a cunning move to sell Honor. Thus, the company will be able to solve the problem of purchasing components, and in general, will be able to resume cooperation with previous partners.
The analyst separately notes that Honor is a fairly valuable brand. And by getting out from under the wing of Huawei, it will not only be able to get hold of the latest technological advances (due to the absence of US sanctions), but also move away from positioning itself as a manufacturer of budget smartphones. It is possible that the Huawei P40 and Mate 20 lines will be reflected within the company's subsidiary brand.
