Tunisian capital to impose curfew due to coronavirus

Local authorities have announced a curfew in the Tunisian capital as part of the fight against the spread of the coronavirus. This was reported on Wednesday by the central Tunisian television.

According to him, a curfew prohibiting citizens from being on the street in the metropolitan area from 21:00 to 5:00 on weekdays and from 19:00 to 5:00 on weekends, effective from 8 October. According to the authorities, the restrictions imposed on citizens will be in effect for 15 days.

Earlier, the local authorities decided to transfer, starting from Friday, all restaurants, cafes, and tea salons located in the metropolitan area in the mode of customer service only “takeaway”. This restriction will also be in effect 15 days before a new assessment of the sanitary situation in the capital.

According to the Ministry of Health of Tunisia, a total of 2,312 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country in the past 48 hours, 43 people have died of complications. The rate of spread of infection throughout the last week has been kept at an increased level for the republic of about a thousand new cases per day.
