The leaders of the Golden Dawn were convicted of the 2013 murder of an anti-fascist musician and the attack on PAME union members a year earlier.

In addition, the leader of the party, Nikolaos Michalolyakos, and several ex-parliament members were given prison terms. Fifteen of the 17 party members were convicted of the murder of anti-fascist musician Pavlos Fissas in 2013 and the attack on members of the Panhellenic Front (PAME) union, close to the Communist Party, in 2012.
More than 15 thousand people were awaiting verdict under the courthouse. Among them, from time to time, conflicts arose, to which the police reacted with tear gas and water cannons. The crowd reacted to the verdict with jubilant shouts.
The founder and leader of the Greek ultra-right party “Golden Dawn" Nikolaos Michaloiakos, as well as several former MPs, were convicted on Wednesday. The party itself is recognized as a “criminal organization”, which is actually the first time in Europe.
Also, 15 out of 17 accused were found guilty of organizing the murder of the anti-fascist musician Pavlos Fyssas, which was committed in September 2013 in the port of Piraeus.
Demonstrators gathered in front of the courthouse and greeted the verdict with joy.
