SpaceX finally launched 60 more Starlink satellites into space

SpaceX, led by billionaire Elon Musk, today finally launched its Falcon 9 launch vehicle with another batch of small Starlink satellites.

Recall that the Starlink project involves the formation of a global satellite system to provide broadband Internet access around the world. Ultimately, the Starlink infrastructure is supposed to integrate nearly 12,000 spacecraft.

The current launch came after a two-week delay. The start was postponed twice due to bad weather conditions and once due to abnormal sensor readings.

The Falcon 9 rocket was launched at 14:29 Moscow time from the launch site at Cape Canaveral in Florida. 60 Starlink spacecraft were used as payloads.

Approximately 9 minutes after launch, the first reusable stage of the launch vehicle successfully landed on the floating platform, Of Course, I Still Love You. By the way, this stage has already been used twice by SpaceX during launch programs.

With today's launch of Starlink satellites, the total number of satellites in orbit will approach 800. Commercial services based on Starlink infrastructure will begin to be provided in the North American market this year.
