Another Republican senator was infected with coronavirus

American Republican Senator Tom Tillis (from North Carolina) said on Friday that he was diagnosed with coronavirus.

“Tonight my test for COVID-19 was positive. I follow my doctor's recommendations. Fortunately, I have no symptoms, I feel good,” the legislator wrote on Twitter.

Earlier on Friday, Republican Senator Mike Lee (from Utah) reported his coronavirus infection. According to CNN, both legislators attended an event last Saturday at the White House where U.S. President Donald Trump announced his decision to nominate Amy Coney Barrett, Judge of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, as a candidate for the U.S. Supreme Court.

On Friday night, the President wrote on Twitter that he and his wife Melanie had been diagnosed with coronavirus. White House spokesman Kaylie McInani said Friday that Trump would spend the next few days at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Maryland as a precautionary measure. Before leaving for the medical facility, the President posted a video message on Twitter telling them that he and First Lady Melanie were doing well.
