If he is admitted guilty, the term of imprisonment of an American producer could rise to 140 years
In the United States, producer Harvey Weinstein is charged with sex crimes on six more counts. This was reported by Reuters on Friday, October 2, citing a statement by the US District Attorney for Los Angeles, California, Jackie Lacy.
“The willingness of these latest victims to testify against the influencer gives us the additional evidence we need to create a convincing criminal case,” Lacey said.
According to her, the new charges relate to six episodes more than ten years ago. According to the Los Angeles Times, we are talking about sexual crimes against two women.
According to investigators, in the period from September 2004 to September 2005, Weinstein raped a woman in a Beverly Hills hotel. In the second case, according to the investigation, the producer raped another woman in November 2009 and November 2010.
Weinstein's representatives did not comment on the allegations.
A criminal case against the famous producer was opened in 2017 after several Hollywood actresses, including Ashley Judd, Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman, and Gwyneth Paltrow, reported harassment and sexual abuse by Weinstein over the years. In total, more than a hundred women reported violence by the producer.
In March this year, a New York court sentenced Weinstein to 23 years in prison for raping two women at different times in 2013. In Los Angeles, the producer faces another trial, as a result of which he can receive up to 29 years in prison.
At the same time, it became known in the summer that women who previously accused an American film producer of sexual harassment and discrimination will receive compensation totaling $19 million.
Recall, according to the order of Queen Elizabeth II, Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein, who is serving a prison term in the United States for rape and forced sex, was stripped of the title of Honorary Chevalier of the Order of the British Empire.
