Nearly 80% of Americans said they did not feel pride in their country after watching a televised debate between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden, CNBC reported on October 1.
The American Center Change Research together with CNBC conducted a survey of citizens in connection with the earlier televised debate between Trump and Biden. 77% of the respondents indicated that the atmosphere that prevailed at the debates did not give them a reason to be proud of their country.
The fact is that instead of discussing issues of real interest to Americans, candidates often slipped into personal attacks.
As a result, 53% of those polled gave the victory in the debate to Biden. At the same time, 98% of the respondents noted that after the debate they did not change their attitude towards the candidates.
