Shooting in Oregon: Police say multiple casualties

The man took people hostage, and when the police arrived, a shootout began. As a result, the attacker himself died, as well as other victims.

In the city of Salem in Oregon, the United States, the release of hostages escalated into shooting — the police are talking about numerous victims. This was announced by the representative of the city sheriff's office, Sergeant Jeremy Landers on Tuesday, September 29

According to Landers, the police arrived at one of the townhouses where the suspect was holding hostages.

“As the events unfolded, shots were fired. The shooting led to numerous casualties, and the suspect was killed,” the sheriff informs.

During the incident, none of the police officers were injured. The number of those killed and whether they were hostages or accidental victims is not reported. The state police have now begun their investigation.

We will remind that earlier in the capital of Haiti, 20 people were killed in gang clashes. The victims of the attack are predominantly young people and several children. Law enforcers are looking for criminals.
