So who's right — Epic Games or Apple

The hearing will take place only in July 2021

Apple and Epic Games are sorting things out in federal court, which is trying to determine whether to restore the Fortnite game in the App Store. The case is part of a larger antitrust investigation that could be a key part of the app ecosystem.

Epic Games is trying to get an interim court order that will force Apple to restore Fortnite from its App Store. Fortnite was removed from the App Store a couple of months ago for violating store terms, as the developers offered to pay for purchases directly without Apple's commission.

Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers (Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers) of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California did not specify a timeline for the decision. However, she added that it should be considered by a jury, and this will happen only in July 2021.

Apple believes Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney (Tim Sweeney) is trying to spearhead a developer riot that is undermining Apple's business model. Epic Games claims that Apple is a monopoly and a liar.
