The number of detected cases of COVID-19 in the Republic of South Africa has increased to 653,444, the South African Minister of Health Zweli Mhise said on Twitter on September 16.
According to the minister's report, 20,962 coronavirus tests were conducted in South Africa during the day, and 1923 new cases of COVID-19 were detected. The total number of tests conducted is 3,961,179.
The victims of the disease in 24 hours were 64 people, bringing the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in South Africa since the beginning of the epidemic has reached 15 705 people.
